Office of Legislative Affairs
The mission of the Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA) within the Office of the State Courts Administrator (OSCA) is to act as the general liaison for the courts. In other words, the OLA serves as the central coordinating entity for statewide community, intergovernmental, legislative, and communications initiatives on behalf of the State Courts System (SCS), comprised of the county courts, circuit courts, district courts of appeal, and the Supreme Court of Florida. Maintaining open lines of communication enhances judicial awareness. Additionally, effective communication between the SCS and the public it serves is essential, vital, and instrumental in building public trust and confidence in the courts. Our office strives to have an effective “educational/communication outreach” program so that all Floridians become conscious and aware that the SCS will always remain accessible, fair, effective, responsive, and accountable to its citizens. Our office is committed to successful, effective communication within the judicial branch as well as the executive and legislative branches of government and any other entity or person with whom we interact.
